Here's how ObamaCare would "work"

How would ObamaCare work? Here's a flowchart. Reminds me a lot of the chart used to describe Hillary Clinton's plan in 1993. Let's hope and pray it meets a similar fate.

The government just does not deliver services nearly as well as the free market. Government health-care would be a disaster, and old people would be denied care as health services must be rationed. As Obama said, maybe instead of surgery they should just take a pain pill. Can you believe the AARP is supporting this monstrosity?

One thing the democrats fail to tell the public is that if this Health Care Plan passes, anyone hired by a private employer would not be able to get the employer's insurance. Instead they would have not choice but to have the government's health care. And what does that equal? SOCIALIZED MEDICINE

Every problen the president has addressed has resulted in a plan that intensifies the problem. Like throwing gas on a fire.
the only people pushing this are liberal politicians and activists. The general public doesn't want it.

I am all for Obamas health care plan. Look at what a mess our health care system is in, and it's only getting worse. We all deserve the same coverage that our elected officials have.

A time for choosing

If true, this is the best political news I've heard in a while, from The Corner blog at National Review Online:

House Members Being Hammered Over Waxman-Markey [By Iain Murray]

I'm hearing that the popular reaction to the passage of the Waxman-Markey electricity tax bill in the House has blown House members away. The public outrage is really hurting those who voted for it, and that's why the bill has been "parked" (as the Blair government used to say) in the Senate. Very good sign. We need that sort of public pressure to defeat this monstrosity, and similarly for the health-care plans. If these two overreaches go down, Obama's political capital will be spent. How often has a president become a lame duck by his own actions within a year of taking office?

Perhaps the American people are starting to assert themselves enough to prevent President Obama and the Congress from destroying what's left of the private sector. Still, too few people seem to understand what's at stake here. If Obama gets the cap and trade taxes and government-run health care, we're cooked, folks. We will become a command-and-control nation run by power-hungry bureaucrats out of Washington, D.C., instead of the free republic our founders gave us. This is our time for choosing.

It might help us to keep the pressure on our congressman, Rep. Jim Marshall (D-Macon), to stop this train wreck. You can follow whether he votes with Madame Pelosi and his liberal party or with us, the people of Middle Georgia, at this link.

Now pitching, our lefty president...

Does it really matter whether a president has athletic ability? I don't think so. What's really important is whether he holds his country in high regard, whether he believes in our constitution and free enterprise system, and whether he's willing to forcefully confront our enemies. Unfortunately, it appears our current president has none of the above. What he does have is a strong-arm in staging events and dictating to the media. Case point No. 1 is last night's All-Star game when President Obama threw out the first pitch. Amazingly, Fox Sports used a camera angle that concealed his throw, which reminded me a lot of my seven-year-old daughter's throws at the Monroe County Recreation Department. Fortunately, there is one place you can see the throw, this highlight blip here from MLB.com. It's 24 seconds in. Like I said, it really shouldn't matter that the president throws a wimpy pitch. It's just too bad it so well fits the way he deals with our adversaries abroad.

I think that it's only natural for the public to over analyze their leader's actions. Do you remember when George Bush senior couldn't scan groceries on national television? It sent a message out to people that their president was out of touch with the times. Conversely, when Clinton played "Heartbreak Hotel" on a popular TV show, he managed to bridge the gap between the old guard and the elusive youth culture. So when Obama throws a baseball or does any other sort of arbitrary action, the public is looking for signs of weakness.

What drives Democrats?

Why have Republicans been getting creamed by the Democrats at the national level? I mean polls show twice the number of Americans identify themselves as conservatives as they do liberals. You'd think that would favor the GOP. So what's the deal?

I think one reason is that Democrats play hard ball much better than Republicans. Check out this article by David Kahane at National Review Online. Headline: "I still hate you, Sarah Palin." In short, Democrats are the party of government. So when they play politics, they play as ruthless masters.

An excerpt:

...stop thinking of the Democratic Party as merely a political party, because it’s much more than that. We’re not just the party of slavery, segregation, secularism, and sedition. Not just the party of Aaron Burr, Boss Tweed, Richard J. Croker, Bull Connor, Chris Dodd, Richard Daley, Bill Ayers, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, and Emperor Barack Hussein Obama II. Not just the party of Kendall “Agent 202” Myers, the State Department official recruited as a Cuban spy along with his wife during the Carter administration. Rather, think of the Democratic Party as what it really is: a criminal organization masquerading as a political party.

If you had any sense, you would start using our tactics against us.

And you take yourself seriously?

Wow...

How about we start having serious, though provoking and meanigful debates without any propaganda laced arguments.
