What drives Democrats?

Why have Republicans been getting creamed by the Democrats at the national level? I mean polls show twice the number of Americans identify themselves as conservatives as they do liberals. You'd think that would favor the GOP. So what's the deal?

I think one reason is that Democrats play hard ball much better than Republicans. Check out this article by David Kahane at National Review Online. Headline: "I still hate you, Sarah Palin." In short, Democrats are the party of government. So when they play politics, they play as ruthless masters.

Not just the party of Kendall “Agent 202” Myers, the State Department official recruited as a Cuban spy along with his wife during the Carter administration. Rather, think of the Democratic Party as what it really is: a criminal organization masquerading as a political party.
